DCS continues to demonstrate World class Quality

11 Mar 2016

Little did the 65 delegates from 25 countries that met in London in 1946 appreciate the impact that they would have on standard setting around the world as the forerunners to the International Standards Organisation (ISO).Today there are ISO members representing 162 of the 206 recognised countries of the world.

The ability to demonstrate a comprehensive approach by those engaged in the manufacture, packaging, testing, storage and transportation of cosmetic products under a GMP (Good Manufacturing practice) regime has led to the development of ISO 22716.

The standard has its roots in other recognised quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and BRC (British retail consortium).

Consistency, predictability and repeatability are an absolute must for DCS who manufacture tens of millions of Health and Beauty products for well-known retail, contract and export customers each year. Standing side by side, the line of products would stretch from the DCS manufacturing plant in Stratford –Upon- Avon to Gibraltar off the Spanish coast!

After a successful ISO 22716 audit in March 2016, DCS are now in possession of a globally recognised standard which has seen several countries and regions replace existing guidelines and standards and adopt ISO 22716. This is also an extremely important endorsement to the DCS export business.

DCS manufacturing can now add ISO 22716 to 9001 and 14001, its other ISO accreditations. The operation also boasts Grade ‘A’ BRC status and also Soil Association and RSPO (Roundtable on sustainable Palm Oil) membership.

Not that any of the above leaves any of the team complacent. Nothing is achieved without team work, attention to detail and the aim of ‘getting it right first time’. As we constantly remind ourselves, “the final auditor is the Customer”.
